Privacy Policy
Effective date: {EFFECTIVE_DATE}
This Privacy Policy describes how {COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME} (“Doughble,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Doughble web application and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up we collect your email address, name, and a unique account identifier through our authentication provider (Clerk). We do not store your password.
Baking data you create
The Service is a baking companion. When you create recipes, start bake sessions, upload photos, log timings, temperatures, environment readings, outcome reviews, and chat messages with the AI assistant, that content is stored so we can show it back to you. You own your data.
Location (optional)
If you provide a ZIP code or lat/lon, we use it to fetch local weather data so the app can capture environmental context for your bakes. You can leave this blank.
Payment information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. Stripe returns a customer ID and subscription status that we store to know which features to unlock.
Usage and device data
We use PostHog to collect product analytics (pages viewed, features used, event timings, device and browser information) and Sentry to capture application errors so we can fix them. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies. We do not sell this data.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate you, process payments, and enforce plan limits.
- To surface your own bake history back to you and to ground the AI assistant’s responses in your own data.
- To debug issues and communicate important service updates.
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and prioritize what to build next.
3. Third parties
- Clerk— authentication and user identity.
- Convex— application database and backend.
- Stripe— payment processing and subscription management.
- Vercel— hosting and AI Gateway routing.
- Mistral— language model powering the AI coach (accessed via Vercel AI Gateway). Your prompts and a relevant slice of your bake history are sent to generate responses.
- PostHog— product analytics.
- Sentry— error monitoring.
- Weather data provider— to fetch conditions for your entered location.
4. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual bakes and recipes from inside the app. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email us at {CONTACT_EMAIL}.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including residents of California, the EEA, and the UK), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact {CONTACT_EMAIL}.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, encryption at rest via our infrastructure providers, least-privilege access). No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting you, we will notify you as required by law.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA) and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 7 days before taking effect.
